Fire Safety Training at Bangladesh Petroleum Institute
Engr. Shahjahan Alam delivered two sessions on fire incidents, code compliance and suppression systems during BPI’s professional training programme.
Engr. Md. Shahjahan Alam delivered two technical sessions during Bangladesh Petroleum Institute’s three-day Fire Safety, First Aid & Rescue programme. His LinkedIn update of 15 August 2025 records participation by approximately 62 engineers from different organisations.
The first session examined major fire incidents in Bangladesh and the role of codes and compliance. The second covered fire-suppression systems, including hydrants, automatic sprinklers, gas suppression and water mist, together with smoke management. Relevant provisions for petrochemical storage were also discussed.
The programme brought practising engineers together for technical discussion and experience sharing. It concluded with certificates and a group session.
The engagement reflects his continuing work as a guest lecturer and professional trainer, connecting engineering design with fire-safety practice in operating facilities.
